Annual Competition

Real Salt Lake

Rocky Mountain Cup: Rules and Standings

The following set of rules will be used to determine the annual winner of the competition.

The winner of the Rocky Mountain Cup will be determined by the results of all regular season MLS games between the Colorado Rapids and Real Salt Lake, with points assigned as follows:

3 points for each win
1 point for each tie

The Cup will be awarded to the fans of the team whose total points are highest at the conclusion of the final regular season match of each season.

In the event of the teams being tied on points, the following tiebreakers will be used in order:

  1. Aggregate Goals
  2. Most recent head-to-head victory

Should the two teams still be tied at this point, the holders of the Cup from the previous year's competition will retain possession.
